Summary:
The Vietnam War was a war that shaped not only America but greatly affected Indochina. The war lasted from 1954 to April 30, 1975. The vicious war would swallow the hearts, minds, and bodies of the innocent Vietnamese civilians and young American soldiers. Containment wouldn't be enough anymore for the American people. With blood shed and explosions on the T.V. screens of every American home protests broke out to bring the youth home. When Nixon won the presidential elections the peace deal was signed. The war ended with North Vietnam taking control of the south and a communist government was set up. The Vietnam War killed 1.5 Vietnamese and 58,000 Americans. Soon after the war congress passed the War Powers Act which would limit the president's war-making abilities.
Original Thought: Loss
The Vietnam War was nothing but great losses. Americans and the Vietnamese both felt the war had no benefit. The Vietnam was a war of impulse and fear.
