Summary:
Nixon helped create an easier relationship with the Soviet Union and the United States. Nixon was very much interested in foreign policy and what was good for the country. However, by Nixon's second term that wouldn't be the public's focus. Nixon had set up a burglary at the Watergate Hotel to get a peek at votes. The burglars were caught and an investigation soon began. The investigation traced up to President Nixon in which then Nixon was pressured to resign, Gerald R. Ford took presidency after. Gerald R. Ford gave full pardon to Nixon. In 1981 Ronald Regan became president, and began pushing a very conservative agenda. In 1989 another republican candidate took office, George H. W. Bush. President George H. W. Bush led Operation Desert Storm in order to help free Kuwait after Saddam Hussein ignored the United States wishes. By 2000 George H. W. Bush's son, George W. Bush is elected president. In the presidential term of George W. Bush would be an attack on American soil. 9/11 would kill nearly 3,000 people.
Original THought:
9/11 would be a day in which no American can forget. The terrorist attack in which two airplanes would hit the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York. Americans suffered great loss. I personally feel it is a reminder that we aren't the only ones in the world. Foreign policy is as important as domestic.
Poster:
Those involved with the Watergate scandal soon become focused on by the public eye. However, the possibility President Nixon was the source of the burglary was more so the interest. Nixon receiving a pardon from Gerald R. Ford outraged many Americans. Nixon was not punished for his crime.
