Summary
After World War II the Cold War began. It would begin the Second Red Scare creating a great scare of communism in the American people. Politian Joseph McCarthy would help influence and create baseless charges against those thought to be communist. It wouldn’t just be newspapers to reach people, television was in the home of every average American. Truman attempted created policies that would shape America. He put forward the Fair Deal, but most of his ideas were defeated by congress. Much stress were on the American people regardless of consumerism and the baby boom. Issues such as the Hollywood Ten would rise. The Hollywood Ten were jailed for their refusal to answer questions of their beliefs and beliefs of others.

If an idea is driven enough through a media sources (at this time it so happened to be television) it can affect the daily views and thoughts of great numbers of people. News bringing fear to the average American home caused many people to create bomb shelters and question those around them of being communist.
